Graduating college (a mini-lifetime ago) felt like the start of real life — liberation from academic torture and I guess partial-liberation from my parents. I had a job lined up, was moving in with a best-friend, and overall felt invincible heading into the "real" world. I was fortunate enough to have the funds saved up to take a trip to Hawaii with a few of my best girl friends whom I had grown up with.
